HOUSTON DUTCH LIONS ANNOUNCE OFFICIAL NAME CHANGE

On April 1, 2013 our club made our name change official!  Going forward we are operating as “Houston Dutch Lions” and no longer are operating as “Texas Dutch Lions”.  Although we have been referring to ourselves under our new title for several months, the name change was not official until the beginning of the month.  This change has now been recognized on the business side, as well as being recognized by the USL for our professional teams. We feel these changes are being made at an ideal time and reflect all of the positive changes we are making as a club.

What does this mean for all our Youth Academy, HFA, Super-20 and USL PDL players and parents?  There are really no major changes to the way we do business.  The only real differences are that going forward all payments and correspondences need to be addressed to Houston Dutch Lions.  Construction of our new website is almost completed and will include options to purchase tickets to all our USL PDL home games.   We already have new Facebook and Twitter pages under our new title where we are posting all club news and information.  Please make sure to follow us to have the most up to date information on the club.  Most importantly, you soon will be able to support your club with all new Houston Dutch Lions merchandise!

The entire staff of the Houston Dutch Lions is extremely excited for all the continued success that the future holds for our club.  In the coming months there are a number of things to look forward to.  Topping the list of upcoming events will be the construction of our own training complex!  We will be the only soccer club in Montgomery County to have its own soccer specific complex.  Construction begins this month and our groundbreaking ceremony will be April 17th.  In other upcoming events, our Youth Academy will continue with current season and are players will look forward to end of the season playoffs.

This summer we will have three separate weeks of summer camps available for players of all clubs in the area looking to improve their skills.  On the professional side, our USL PDL team begins practice this week and has it first exhibition game this Saturday, April 13.  This season will begin on May 11 with our first home game at Woodforest Stadium.  We all want to thank all of our club members and supporters for being with us as we continue build a true professional soccer experience in Montgomery County.  Our club, its players and their parents are the reason we do what we do!  Let’s have a great summer and as always, GO LIONS!!!!!!
