Houston Dutch Lions FC U10 Plus  – Houston United U11 2-2
Player of the game: Emilio Balli
Goals: Dylan Delapaz & Andrew Park

The U10 plus group had an exciting game in which they scored a late equalizer to make it 2-2. After a start which showed both teams were competitive towards each other, the young Lions got exactly what they needed: an opponent who requires them to play on the top of their level. The first half showed that they opponent was smart in front of our goal, the visitors scored two goals where it was an even match.

Just before halftime though, it was forward Dylan Delapaz who believed in a through ball and was rewarded with the 1-2 just before half time. The second half showed a similar game: the Lions had more of the ball possession, but could not create many chances. This changed when defender Hendrix Tewold was placed as an extra striker, his presence was difficult to handle for the visitors. In the final minutes of the game, the Lions got what they deserved, a run from Nathaniel Harms ended with a good cross, where at the second post it was Andrew Park who could finish it and give the Lions a well deserved point, 2-2!

KSS Orange U14 – Houston Dutch Lions FC U13/U14 0-2
Goals made by Omar Younes & Vladyslav Froimson
Player of the game: Toby van den Berg

Houston Dutch Lions FC U13/U14 Orange won their first game at Meyer Park this season! A tough task for the 10 players of the Houston Dutch Lions FC U13/U14 last week. We started a man down, but our strength and great mentality brought us the 2-0 win! This team worked together perfectly. Every player was focused on the transition and with a little bit of luck we were able to score the first goal of the game.

Omar Younes was alert, and kicked the ball outside right in the goal from a corner kick. This might be the first time I saw almost every parent + players (including coach) with both hands in the air! Finally we got the deserved goal after good play and team work. The 2nd goal was made by Vladyslav Froimson. A nice solo through the hart of the KSS Orange defense and an amazing kick in (what we call in the Netherlands): “roof of the goal”. The game was defensively well played with some good counter attacks. A nice victory just for the Spring Break.

A great performance from the U13/U14 squad and a positive vibe to continue in the Season!
